The morning started with a session of "wake up , shake up" where we all (parents included) took part in an aerobics style of dancing. It was so good! K was especially thrilled that the songs chosen were by One Direction and Olly Murs. She was on cloud 9! I was working so it was quite the work out to be following along with a 2 year old on my hip! lol.
The children were then split into their "house" groups. K is in Reaper which is the same house Fraser was in. They took part in various activities for around 15 mins before moving on to next. I was working (and picnic packing) so Granny Mary was there all morning to cheer them on :-) I arrived in time to see them try 3 activities.
K scored 2 goals! BIG celebration!
At lunchtime we all settled in the sunshine with our picnics and our girl could barely sit long enough to refill her energy tank. She was too excited to be running and playing with her friends. It was lovely to see how confident and happy she is within her little school world.
Our girl came second in her running race! She flew down that grass like a rocket!
And she almost came second in the icecream cone/olympic torch race but alas, she dropped the ball around 6 feet from the line. But she just picked it up and carriedn on regardless. Our sweet girl.
We were very very proud! She tried her very best and never once skipped a beat when she didn't win. Our girl trully understands that the fun is in participation.
Unfortunately we had another first, K got a teeny bit of red on her cheeks. I stupidly forgot to pack her sun hat and well , letgs face it, it's Scotland so I wasn't expectin git to be so sunny. Anyhoo, it was roasting and even with factor 30 applied, she still got her first ever touch of pink. I hope it is all gone by morning, the poor girl did not iinherit her Daddy or brother's genes for sun tolerence. She is even more pasty than her mama! x

What a fun day outside. I used to love sports day with my girls. Sorry about the sunburn.
