Happy Friday

One of my favourite bloggers used to do a post on a Friday called Friday phone dump. I loved it. It was one of my favourite post series that she did. A week of happies all in one post.
I have felt inspired to do something similar myself, it's been on my mind for a while. It seems like a good time as I have managed a few recent posts and I'm starting to uncover my "blogging voice" again. Blowing off the dust and chasing away the cobwebs.

I won't be doing a classy wee collage like my inspiration did. For a start, I couldn't choose just 12 pics like she did.

How lucky am I!! A week just stuffed with happies :-)

Furries

Quiet Autumnal moments

Fun, new and completely necessary glasses.
Honest!

Cups of Eeyore tea are the best.

Lunch dates.

Freshly squeezed girls making freshly squeezed juice :-)

I love it when Meaty does this weird  thing where she cuddles/licks my hand, this is the most affectionate she gets.

Soup season is back baby!

Love our boys.

Homegrown apple pie.
The first of the season.
The first of many!

Documenting the much loved loom bands.
(And my permenantly chippy nails)

Happy Friday!

Anticipation.

In two sleeps a little piece of my heart will fly home on an aeroplane.
He will touch down in Glasgow with my mum and my big sister and then he will be driven to "Adie's" house to be fed and loved on and enjoyed.

My Joe boy.

It is almost like Christmas.
The excitement.
Anticipation.

Preparation.

And some baking and cooking of course.

2 sleeps.

Surprises.

One of my most favourite things about motherhood is how the little surprises often turn out to be what you needed all along.

It is almost 1.15am and I am trying to wind back down to a state of sleep.

Almost an hour ago I heard the hesitant footsteps of my girl outside our door. Usually she sleepily makes her way straight to the bathroom so I knew something was wrong.

A nosebleed.

She gets them quite often, especially if she has/has had a high temp. And she gets them bad. Sometimes it gets to the - ill give it 5 more minutes then we are going to get this checked - stage.

Tonight it wasn't too bad.

I help her get cleaned up and snuggle back in her bed with her until it stops bleeding.

Fraser pops in to make sure she is ok ( which is nice as I actually sometimes doubt that there is any sibling love goes on in the hamster wheel)

There is much giggling and carrying on which started with who knows what and continued when k snort laughed and I  got sprayed. Hilarious.

Now,

K is finally quiet and has hopefully returned to dreaming sweet dreams.

All is quiet in Fraser's room too , so he must be settled for the night too.

And me? Well I have stopped giggling, i am snuggled in my cosy bed, counting my blessings.

When I climbed into bed at 11pm, I thought what I wanted was a full nights sleep.

Look what I would have missed.

Caring, loving, giggling, snorting, family moments of living.

That is all I ever really need :-) xx

A rainy Tuesday

I'm still so pleased that k gets to come to work with me and the summer holidays are making me ever more grateful. I also now finish at 1.30 which is awesome! The ,owning zooms by and I get to come home at roughly the time Frase usually rises from his bed... Lol.

Today after work, we headed home for a leisurely lunch. It was cold and wet outside and we settled inside all cosy, grateful that we had nowhere to be. No school run, no errands. Just home time.

K spread out all of her babies and we began many intricate games that involved lots of - "ok, so, you be my mum and I'm having a baby. Pretend you thought that it was  the kid  that I already had and ..... but it's not, it's actually a new one and pretend that you didn't notice that I had already had a baby and no . ...... Wait..... Right so I am in the hospital and you come to see me and ....... No wait ...."

As sweet as these games are and as precious and fleeting these moments may be, there is only so much I can take! It's exhausting!
After a while I decided that it would be nice to find a quiet corner to finish my book. I sneaked upstairs and filled a bath, afterwards with ony a few pages to go, I headed to my bedroom where it was an oasis of calm...... For about 30 seconds.  I was followed almost immediately and joined by K who wanted to drag all of the mess up with her and spread it all around my room! I said no way, she had already taken over the entire living room!
She begged and almost cried.
 We compromised.
I said she could have one baby..... A plastic bath.... A multitude of clothes and blankets...... And pretty much most of her stuff.  She scrubbed up in a quick bath and joined me on my bed to watch you've got mail.

And here was me thinking I wanted a quick half hour of being alone.
When what I really wanted was a sweet smelling, pj clad little mummy to keep me company as we watched my favourite film and listened to the rain pitter patter on the window

These are my favourite kind of days.

Ps-that wooden unit drives me crazy! It's my favourite piece of furniture we own yet it attracts clutter like no other surface in the house! I need something pretty to make me want to keep it clear and nice. Hmm maybe another thing to add to my summer list

first weigh in..... and some other randoms

and I lost 2lbs! yay! I'm sure it would havebeen better had I managed to get my head round the plan and also hadnt been yoghurts that I thought were free and actually had one or 2 syns in there.

Never mind! Onwards and downwards!  I feel better already and healthier and I filled in my gym application form today! And I am so excited to get the started  :-)

My new job is going great and I get every Monday off. Murray and I both got to have a day off today, together! :-) He even took me out for lunch. I forgot how awesome it was to have an actual date! Instead of a couch date like we usually have. He is now in the kitchen cooking up a yummy slimming world curry and some areebee for another night. Recipes and pics will follow , just in case anyone out there might be interested. If not, it is always good to have back up copies of recipes ;-)

The weather is just crazy this week! it has pretty much snowed and hailed constantly for almost a week! But we are yet to trudge through any fabby snow, it all just melts on impact. But very pretty and freezing to walk through (in a crazy , stormy, feels like stones crashing off your face- kind of way :-)) K and I have been curled up on the couch all afternoon with hot water bottles and cozy quilts.

My creativity seems to be on holiday at the moment, which is a pity seeing as I have 4 quilts to finish! I am hoping a good old clean up in the craft zone will help. I did make a new outfit for miss Emmy and I am so very pleased with it!

And this random blog post will show that I also seem to be a bit rusty at this too!

I'm off to eat another orange, I've had one already and it was very yummy. It is no substitute for chocolate but seeing as I have used my syns for today already (on garlic bread and naan bread!) I can't actually have any chocolate. But I will be having a chocolate bar tomorrow! for sure! X

And so it came.

Most Christmas mornings start with Murray and I waiting for the kids to wake up. We are always too excited to sleep.
This year as we woke up we became aware that Miss K hadn't been awake at all in the night. This is most unusual.
I squeaked the door, I flushed the toilet. Everything.
No hurrying footsteps to be heard.
Seeing as K had had a temperature at bedtime, I was really worried that she had worsened overnight,  so I sneaked in heart pounding to a dark and silent room.
I crouched down and kissed a very cool cheek and heard a beautiful deep sigh as our girl turned over and snuggled back in.
That moment, that precious sigh was my favourite gift this Christmas.

Finally those footsteps came hurrying to our room with hqnds clutching stockings stuffed to the brim.

Even Emmy's stocking was full

Miss K was so touched that Santa would bring a lovely snowglobe for Emmy.

and Emmy just loved it.

Getting to spend time with Joseph on Christmas day was another precious gift.

Look at that smiling relaxed lady! Enjoying spending time with her favourite people without ANY stress!
And Christmas dinner cooked by someone else?
Bliss.

Some of us may have eaten so much that we immediately crashed on the couch and snoozed for a whole hour.

Christmas Bliss.
