Teaching an old dog an even older trick

This weekend I have big plans! I am so excited! I am going to teach myself how to crochet! I have been thinking about it for a while and then today the deal was sealed. Sweet sweet Lollychops has been hosting a craft along this week. Although I haven't actually crafted along, I am definitely going to give it all a go!

Today she posted video tutorials of how to do the stitches to make darling little crochet flowers. Now I can see these little babies on clippies, handbags, hats, coats, just about everywhere! BUT I don't actually know how to crochet. How hard can it be right?? I am currently teaching myself how to sew so why not throw something else in there too.

I will soon have a load more projects to add to my skyscraper sized pile of unfinished projects!

Tomorrow, I am setting out nice and early to go and get supplies. I have a looooooong list of things needed from the fabric/craft store, so I will just add another couple of things on there. (ooh my original list is for a load of stuff for Fraser's drama production at school! Can't wait to show off my star!)

I would have thought that  the day couldn't look any better, right? No!! It gets even better!  I also get to go .............................................. to do all of my fabric crafty shopping .......................................................................................... ALONE!!!!!!!

Yeehaaa!  I get to concentrate on all of the yummy things on display without my sweet little touchy touchy touchersons being with me :)  I will be dropping Murray and the kidlets off at a soft play place for a couple of hours and then I am going to drool.

**Sigh** the department store even has a cookware/baking section.

I may never be seen again

I did nothing photo worthy today so I will leave you with my spring gal taking her baby for a walk one fine day

Oh One Fine day!! I LOVE that film! I am definitely going to watch that this weekend while I am crocheting myself into oblivion!

Isn't it fun to stretch your creative wings and try something new?
Have FUN!

I keep telling myself that 10 year old children can crochet. I know a dislexic ADD young man who crochets wonderful hats and can't read a pattern. So why does it intimidate me so much?
I do enjoy buying the supplies though. Enjoy your new challenge.
