Part 3! Eventually!

Who would have thought that a simple weekend away would take me so long to post about! The problm has been my photos, I wanted to use so many, it was too much for one post.

Ah well it's nearly there :)

On our last day we woke up (super early! thanks K ) and watched a fabulous sunrise"

In the morning we planned to go to the Holy island. Which K thought was called Tony Island. Of course we did not correct her! She is five you know! These little slip ups are few and far between!

To reach "Tony Island" we had to drive over a causeway. This was a terrifying thought for K and I. At one point I thought we may have to cancel as K was so unsure about driving over a special road, that gets coverd by the sea twice a day!!

But we made it, I even managed to drive over a railway crossing for the first time. I did NOT enjoy that! I just closed my eyes and put my foot down! Horrible!

We had a lovely time wandering around the island, popping into the shops and sampling a little mead.

Played on some swings

In what looked like a disused quarry!

Where my husband pushed our girl too high!!

I had visions of her plumetting to the ground, piercing herself on the rocks and boulders that were strewn all over.
Me exagerrate?? Never.

See!! Even the random stranger wants to yell

" she is going too high!!"

Either that or she is turning to see what the maniac is jumping up and down, pointing and shreiking at.

K survived, with her limbs and life intact.

just.

There is a castle on the Island, it is around a mile long walk to get to it.

This is as close as we got. I was soooooo conscious of the time! I was terrified we were going to get caught on that road, with the tide rising around us!
There is a little bus that runs, to the castle, but as far as we could see, we would have had to re mortgage for 4 return tickets.

So, we clicked a couple of photos from a mile away, grabbed a leaflet or two, called it good  and headed back to the car.

After a long and lesiurely lunch we packed up the car. Determined to use every last second, we hit the arcade and beach one more time.

I made the guys pose in the waves, oops! Ended up with super wet feet!

A healthy dose of crazy followed! We pj'd our girl up, let her run off her silly and headed home.

Thanks for an awesome weekend guys, it was perfect xxx

Weekend away part 2!

Hello poor neglected blog. I have missed you!

On Saturday morning we headed back over the (big) bridge and into Berwick.

The little streets and lovely independent shops were a perfect way to pass a day.
As we were parking we spotted a market.
The whole time we were shopping K asked if we could buy some candy floss as she had seen a little shop that sold it. Anyone that knows K will understand that we wanted her to wait until we were almost back at the car. Hair, sugar, "mento". Enough said.
She pleaded and begged, tugged and pulled , finally we were on our way back to the car and she could buy her candy floss.

Imagine her disappointment when we realised the "little shop" she had seen was infact....

A hog roast van.

"Eww!! That is NOT candy floss!!"
Poor wee thing, a full roasted pig is not quite the same as sweet candy fluff on a stick.

Thank goodness for large , cheap chain stores.
Home bargains candy floss in a tub to the rescue!

Hair! Sticky!! And check out those crazy eyes! lol.

We sneaked down a little side street/alley , so I could check out a little shop I spied the day before. We noticed these old stocks and couldn't resist the photo opportunity.

Interesting!

(Good thing Beebs and I weren't drunk and disorderly at any point during the weekend......)

Of course we had to finish the day by heading back to the gorgeous beach.

Fraser's favourite part! The amusement arcade.

Classic Bristish seaside.

While we were waiting on "tea" being ready we played at the park.
It was a great park.

Good for all ages!! Lol.

I love seeing my two playing together. I didn't think we would ever get Frase back out of this!

The giggles were my favourite part.

Like a cork out of a bottle - pop!

Mifferoony taking a break from begging for chips, to check out some passing dogs.

Ah the perfect end to our day.

A weekend away - part one.

At the weekend we went for a little trip. My in laws had rented a beautiful house for the week and had invuited us to join them. Due to work commitments and a few other thing, we didn't think we would be able to take them up on their offer. Luckily a week or so ago it became feasible for us to make it after all.

We decided it would be fun to surprise Murray's parents, so we only consulted Beebs. We left straight after Murray finished work on Friday. We arrived in the evening, they were so surprised and just thrilled that we had made it. It was wonderful. I wish I could have taken a photo of their faces but we were too busy sneaking up on them! lol,

We only managed to stay for two nights, but we had a great time, and it was a much needed rest for us all.

I took a ton of pictures , here are some from Saturday morning. As soon as we could, we hit the beach which was just behind the holiday home. Bliss.
