Back to school 2014

Even 71/2 weeks of summer holidays goes too fast!
It was so much fun but all great things have to come to and end....

...In order to make space for new beginnings

5th year (oh my!!) and Primary 4.

I can never choose just a few pics. I want them all! Ha ha

My favourite back to school pose, hands down.
I just hope Fraser realises that although, he may only have one more first day of school to go (holy smokes that's a scary thought!!) his sister has loads! So ,for the next 9 years,he will be expected to front up here for my favourite pic.

I hope it's a wonderful year for them both xx

Hands down , this is my favourite part of every school day.
Home time :-)

And then this happened......

We had spent a lovely sunny afternoon , watching Kirsten take part in her school sports day (another post for another day)
Fraser was out cycling with his friend and murray and I were cooking in the kitchen.
The front door opened and fraser rushed in.
"Mum!! I think I have done sometching really bad to my arm."

He wasn't kidding!

He bent the bone in his forearm and required some surgery to correct it.
His first plaster cast.
It's never as fun as it seems as a child, right?

Bless him he was so brave.

And even indulged his old Mum in a hospital selfie.

(Look at that handsome face!)

We were ever so glad to get home that night, unfortunately the evening was not without incident :-(
(We had a poorly girl)

Tomorrow we go for his second weekly x ray and follow up appointment with the surgeon, hoping for the same good news we received last week.

In other good news,

Summer has officially begun!! 7 weeks of fun with my favourite people.

Happy.

Three and fourth.

Eek!  I'm a week late with our back to school pics.
I'm pleased to say they have both settled in great!
Fraser actually started fourth year before the summer holidays so we has no worries for him.

We were a little worried about MIss K and the possibility of a teacher issue.
Thankfully it was unfounded and she is enjoying Primary three so far :-)

The back to school photos proved to be somewhat challenging this year.

We had strange angles, lots of tipping and crumpling over.

Fake smiles aplenty.

Some confusion as Grannies tried to make them smile.

But we got some more natural photos in the end.

Some.......... Not a lot......

For future reference - this is the year that Frase caught up with GC.

Say cheese!

Seven.

Dear Kirsten,

I can't believe it is 7 years ago that you came into our lives and completed our family. You get smarter, funnier and more beautiful with each day that passes.
You bring joy to our lives (and yes that includes Fraser, although he will never admit it!)
We are so proud of you,  kindness, sincerity and happiness shines from you.
May this always be so.

May all your wishes come true

with all my love

Miss K's 1D party

I am about to repeat my usual words.

Where does the time go??
How can my baby girl be 7 already??

Although her birthday wasn't until Monday, we held her party on the Saturday before.
Miss K invited 11 friends and it was a lovely wee party, with a lovely wee group of girls.

This year there was absolutely no question over the theme for K's party.

It was of course One Direction.

We held the party at my parent's house, they have a fabulous big dining room that was a perfect size.
They were a great help in setting up and allowed me to Sellotape, blue tac and pin things to their NEWLY PAINTED walls and ceiling. They are good people :-)

Miss K was very excited to be allowed to help Lor Lor finish off the cake :-)

Granny Mary helping me tie up the party bags.
There's nothing like a bit of last minute party prep ;-)

I made a little Polka dot Sweetheart accessorie for her hair (of course ;-)

And our lucky girl was given a gorgeous pettiskirt and sparkly shoes from her Aunt Sarah for the big party.

I love this skirt, so frothy and girly and fun.

I made a 1D top to finish off the outfit and our party girl was all ready to receive her guests.

We are so lucky to have a fabulous (and generous!!) cake maker in our family.

I was so pleased with how the room came together. It's so nice to see the vision that has been in my head come to life , right in front of me.

The best parents in the world.

Miss K dancin' with her Daddy.

Girly parties are such sparkly fun!

We played lots of party games, ate lots of yummy party food and we made some beaded bag charms to take home :-)

Baby girl you light up our world.
I hope your party was everything you dreamed of
xxxx

Thank you to Lor Lor for being the party photographer xxx
