One Snowy day!

Imagine our excitement On Saturday morning when we woke to find a winter wonderland on our doorstep!! It NEVER snows here! well rarely anyway and it never lies long enough to do anything with. The last time Fraser played in the snow was the weekend after K was born, so it was a while ago!
At just after 7.30 am we bundled up and headed out in the snow and hail to make the most of the wintery weather! I am so glad we did as it was gone by around 11! We also got the street to ourselves, after all it was a Saturday and very early!
Once we were back in and all cosy we decided to bake some gingerbread cookies. We had so much fun! My kitchen was almost as white as the snow outside, from all the icing!!

Sunday - Even more snow!!! This time there was enough to get the sledges out! What a blast we had! This is easily the most fun I have had in years!! I love the snow!

We were out for such a long time on Sunday morning, Fraser, Kirsten , myself and the kids from next door.

Tearing around on the sledges, throwing snowballs and we built a very handsome chap called Frosty!

Back home for some hot choc and home-made gingerbread cookies. Looking around my kitchen table at those four cute and happy faces all rosy and red , does it get any better than this??

I love you ten!

"I love you ten Mummy" are those not just the sweetest words? Ten is the biggest number K knows. If she loves you ten then you know you are special!

Counting my blessings

I have been counting my blessings tonight. Thanks to Shanaz I have been looking at all the amazing millions of things that make up the 2 single most precious things in my life. I have decided to copy these qualities to here so I can have them for all time. I also believe this is something that can be forgotton all too easily in the daily grind of life in the hamster wheel.

Some of the things I love about my special boy,

He is hilarious! His sense of humour is so off the wall and also mature but so funny
- He is gorgeous, his beautiful eyes have been my favourite of his gorgeous features since I lifted him onto my chest for the very first time
- He is so loving and caring. He would spend his last penny on others before himself every time. He was in tears watching a song on X factor tonight, the finalists are releasing a single to raise money for our injured war heroes and their families, he was so moved and is asking if his pocket money would cover buying it even though I said I would buy it. He said that if we both buy it then more money will be raised.
- His naiivity - I am trully blessed that my sweet boy believes in the true magic of christmas and the tooth fairy and all things magical. His soul is so pure and his trust in us all implicit. He believe he knows it all and is so grown up, but thankfully he actually has no idea what this world trully has on offer.
- His love of spending time with us and how his favourite thing to do is to play monopoly with his old decrepit parents
- How he can go from having the worst day ever to being ecstatic in a split second
- How he brought about the biggest change in my life in such a beautiful and fantastic way. We have grown together and I am trully grateful for the gift that is my amazing boy

And my baby girl

-she still makes me well up 90% of the time I see her or think about her-she is the most beautiful creature I have ever had the honour to have in my life. (Fraser is beautiful too but in a masculine tim-the-tool-man-taylor way arr arr arrrrr ;) )
-I just know we will be best friends forever, I enjoy every moment of every day I spend with her and look forward to the future we will enjoy together as Mother and Daughter
-I love how much she loves me, never before have I been anyone's favourite, I cant breathe without you in my life , must be joined to you 24/7, you are my hero kind of person
-She is so bright and clever, articulate and kind. She has so much love to share
-I love how every song she sings has the same "tune" and her "dancing" is fantastic!
-She starts every day with passion and vigour, her zest for life is insatiable
-She is my baby and always will be

I am trully blessed

Uptown Cellardyke, where the girls are girls and the boys are men!

Murray is on holiday this week so we have started the week off with a lovely lazy day in the house. We only popped out to the library and pet shop this morning then snuggled in for a nice day in.

It occurred to me how stereotypical we were in our chosen activities! Kirsten and I decided to bake some lovely cup cakes (complete with pinkos ;) ) , we measured and stirred and spooned and baked. We licked the spoons and bowl until there was almost no need to wash them!. Kirsten did all the washing up and I dried, she was really good! I will need to remember this talent! Then we settled down to read stories while the oven did it's stuff. Once they were cooked and cooled, we iced and sprinkled.

All the while where were the boys? I will give you just one guess! Their chosen activity incorporated their two favourite things, Playstation and football! They were quite happy to be served the final product of our labour! They have now moved onto a wrestling game and we haven't seen them since! (They are however only out of sight, not out of sound!)

Typical?? You betcha!

Pinkos!

I just wanted to say a few words about Pinkos. These are things we use every day in our imaginary play world. One of Kirsten's favourite games is to play Ice cream shops. She can at any time just wander up and say "hello ice cream lady, I have ice cream please? One for my baby too. I have pinkos on it please?"

Pinkos are of course sprinkles and Kirsten was very excited last week when we baked a Birthday cake for her Granny Christine and it was complete with butter icing and Pinkos!!! It was meant to be a surprise but when she spoke to her Gran on the phone she was bursting to tell her and announced "it got pinkos on it!!!" so the cat was ever so slightly out of the bag, haha but it was too sweet for it to matter!
